Film: Nalanum Nanthiniyum
Music: Ashwath
Rating: 2.5 stars
Nalanum Nanthiniyum starts off with
Kadhal Veesum Katril, an average tune that the singers (Unnikrishnan, Pop Shalini and Sowmya Mahadevan) try to salvage. SP Charan and Shreya Ghoshal get a nice tune in
Vaadagai Koodu that the composer seems to have worked on extensively. A melodious duet, this number is hummable and catchy.
Gummunu Varuguthu starts off like a Vijay Antony number but veers into a rural musical template that we’ve heard many times.
While
Thoongama by Balram, Chinmayi and Rasika is average, Shankar Mahadevan’s energetic rendition is the saving grace of
Sala Sala which is otherwise just a passable listen.
Composer Ashwath seems to have reserved his best for the last.
Vettukula Vaanavillu (a bonus ‘unplugged’ track) by Deepak, Madhumitha and Swathi Ravichandran is a pleasant listen. All the singers do ample justice to the catchy tune.
